SKYFLIX MEDIA CREATIVE ACADEMY
Practical training in photography, videography, editing and livestream production — taught inside a working production house in Abuja.
Craft is learned on a live set, not in theory.
The Skyflix Media Creative Academy trains aspiring multimedia professionals in production and post-production craft. Trainees learn on the same cameras, switchers and consoles the Skyflix crew uses on paid jobs, and finish with work they can show.
The Academy is part of our commitment to train and empower a minimum of 50 aspiring multimedia professionals, supporting diversity and inclusion in the industry.

What you will learn
Six modules, built from the way Skyflix actually runs a job: plan, shoot, deliver.
Camera & exposure
Bodies, lenses, exposure control, composition and shooting discipline under pressure.
Lighting & sound
LED panels and modifiers, interview lighting, microphone choice and clean audio capture.
Event & wedding coverage
Reading a run-of-show, shot lists, working with clients and covering a day end to end.
Livestream & broadcast
Multi-camera switching, encoders, bandwidth planning and redundancy for live programmes.
Editing & post
Culling, retouching, timeline editing, colour and delivering to client specification.
Ethics & the business
Consent, dignity and ethical representation in field work — plus quoting, contracts and client handling.
Who we are looking for
- Aspiring photographers, videographers, editors and livestream operators.
- No formal media qualification required — commitment matters more.
- Able to attend in person in Abuja for the full programme.
- Own camera helpful but not required; Academy gear is available for training.
- Applicants of all backgrounds; we actively encourage women to apply.

Before you apply
Do I need my own camera?+
No. Academy gear is available for training sessions. Bringing your own body and lens means more practice time between classes.
Is there a certificate?+
Yes — a certificate of completion is issued at the end of the programme, alongside the portfolio work you produce.
Can I pay in instalments?+
Confirm your payment terms and we will state them here, including deposit and balance deadlines.
Do trainees work on real jobs?+
Selected trainees join a live Skyflix production as crew support, supervised, as part of the programme.
Can an organisation sponsor applicants?+
